The Scholars’ Retreat

A scenic escape. A scholarly sanctuary.
The Scholars’ Retreat offers a rare opportunity for scholars, imams, and duʿāt to step away from the demands of public service and immerse themselves in meaningful connection, rejuvenation, and peer-led growth. Set in remote and beautiful natural settings, this multi-day gathering combines spiritual enrichment, informal scholarly exchange, and immersive learning—all within an atmosphere of calm, sincerity, and brotherhood.

About the Scholars’ Retreat

The Scholars’ Retreat is a unique initiative under the Legacy of Knowledge project that focuses on deepening relationships and strengthening scholarly unity through immersive, multi-day experiences in inspiring natural environments.

This isn’t a conference. It’s not a seminar. It’s a carefully curated retreat—a calm and intentional space for scholars, imams, teachers, and duʿāt to reflect, connect, and recharge.

Whether hiking through scenic trails while discussing theological ideas, or sitting around a fire unpacking personal reflections on leadership, the Retreat is designed to allow hearts and minds to open through the blessing of nature, time, and sincere companionship.

Objectives

The Scholars’ Forum aims to:

✔ Foster Deep Relationships

Strengthen trust, companionship, and collaboration between scholars across generations, schools, and regions.

✔ Create a Space for Informal Exchange

Move beyond the formality of lectures to allow ideas to emerge organically—through conversations over meals, shared walks, and unstructured time.

✔ Enable Peer-to-Peer Growth

Allow attendees to learn from each other’s strengths, experiences, and insights in an honest and nurturing environment.

✔ Dedicated Upskilling & Study

Some sessions may involve the close reading of selected texts—either among peers or guided by a senior scholar with subject matter expertise.

✔ Personal & Professional Rejuvenation

Provide a much-needed pause from daily responsibilities to reflect, re-align, and return to service with renewed clarity and energy.
