Foundations of Legacy

A unique space where scholars across Islamic disciplines come together to connect, collaborate, and co-create. From early-career researchers to senior scholars, the Forum nurtures authentic relationships and critical conversations that strengthen our collective scholarly mission.

Join a network that values legacy, honours diversity, and inspires scholarly excellence.

About the Scholars’ Forum

The Scholars’ Forum is the foundational sub-project of the Legacy of Knowledge initiative. It serves as a dynamic gathering space for scholars across various Islamic disciplines to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the collective scholarly legacy of our time.

This forum fosters meaningful peer-to-peer networking—especially between established scholars and those entering the field—through carefully curated gatherings that centre around shared themes, mutual growth, and the renewal of academic brotherhood and sisterhood.

Objectives

The Scholars’ Forum aims to:

Facilitate Peer Networking

Create intentional, values-driven connections among scholars from diverse backgrounds and regions.

Encourage Collaborative Growth

Offer a space for co-developing ideas, initiatives, and research frameworks that strengthen teaching and community service.

Promote Cross-disciplinary Dialogue

Enable meaningful exchange between various fields, including:

  • – Fiqh

  • – Usul

  • – Theology

  • – Islamic history

  • – Education

  • – Ethics

  • – Contemporary issues

Support Mentorship and Upliftment

Provide early-career scholars and students of knowledge with access to experienced scholars for guidance, encouragement, and development.

Inspire Thought Leadership

Generate deep, solution-oriented conversations around the challenges facing Muslim communities, and the role of scholars in responding with clarity and unity.

Format and Experience

Each Forum event is designed with quality and focus in mind:

  • – Intimate and interactive rather than lecture-heavy

  • – Thematic table discussions

  • – Time allocated for impromptu networking, idea exchange, and project pitches

  • – A relaxed, respectful environment where stakeholder voices are heard and valued

  • – Occasional guest input from field experts or institutional leads

Participants leave with:

✅ New professional and personal connections

✅ Shared ideas or frameworks to take forward in their work

✅ Renewed motivation for scholarship rooted in service

Who Should Attend

The Forum is best suited for:

  • – Senior scholars and recognised academics

  • – Emerging scholars and postgraduate students

  • – Islamic educators, imams, and curriculum developers

  • – Institutional heads, researchers, and thought leaders

  • – Charities & individuals seeking to contribute meaningfully to the intellectual legacy of Islam

Whether you are well-established or just beginning your scholarly path, the Scholars’ Forum offers an environment of sincerity, growth, and shared purpose.

Part of the Legacy of Knowledge Family

The Scholars’ Forum is one of three interconnected initiatives under the Legacy of Knowledge umbrella:

  1. 1. The Scholars’ Forum – Focused on peer-to-peer engagement and scholarly networking

  2. 2. The Scholars’ Retreat – Centred on personal and spiritual rejuvenation for scholars

  3. 3. The Scholars’ Symposium – A public-facing platform to present and share scholarly insights

Together, these projects aim to support, connect, and amplify the work of scholars in the 21st century.
